My approach.

Hiring someone to photograph your family is a big deal. I believe that not only should a photographer’s images appeal to you, but their approach during the session should be a good match for you and your family as well.

My approach to photography is to bring out natural connections through play, laughter and genuine interactions. I help to guide you and yours into comfortable interactions and capture the in between moments from there. Children don’t have to be on their best behavior, and I do not force them to do anything that doesn’t feel fun for them to try. I truly take a child-centered approach to my work.

Upon booking your session, you will be sent a questionnaire that allows me to learn the dynamics and gain some understanding around everyone’s personalities. Each family is so diverse, and thus my approach to photography is tailored specifically to that family. We can chat more about anything you think I need to know during our pre session phone call.

I love to get creative and think outside of the box, having your photo taken does not need to be stiff. Everyone does not need to behave and smile and stare at the camera. In fact, I prefer the opposite. Lets pick a location that sounds appealing to you, whether it be in your home, a local beach, or even a coffee shop that you like to spend time in- Bring me all the ideas !

My goal is to create a time capsule of images from this specific point in your life. The moments in between that you are too immersed in to photograph yourself. When you look back at these images, the hope is that you feel something, and when your children are grown, they can look back with you where you are transported back to this time filled with warmth and love.
